Oregon

Sawyer and I got to go on a trip to Oregon to spend time with my side of the family. Sadly, Sam had to stay home and work. We sure missed him, but it was nice to go back to Oregon. Sawyer got to spend more time with his grandparents, aunt and uncle and meet his great grandparents for the first time. I loved seeing his great grandparents holding him and spending time with him. His great grandma could really get him smiling and cooing. It was so adorable. It was also great to spend time with my grandparents as well.
During our week there, we got to go to my favorite vacation spot, Odell lake. I have been going there almost every summer since I was a little girl and it has a very special place in my heart. And now I was able to share it with my son. It was a very short trip to the lake, but very worth it. 

 The family dog, Polar, somehow managed to drift off in the canoe by himself. My Dad had to swim out and rescue him. 

 Sawyer enjoyed going on walks with Grandpa

6 weeks!

I can't believe Sawyer is already going to be six weeks old tomorrow! I adore being the mom of this cute little boy of mine.  It isn't always smooth sailing. Some days it seems he doesn't sleep all day and is crying every two minutes. Okay, not really, but sometimes it seems that way. These days have me counting down the minutes for Sam to get home from work so I can have a tiny break. But the sweet, cute and funny moments far out way the frustrating ones.  I love just holding him in my arms watching him make adorable little faces. I love taking naps together and I love how often he makes Sam and me laugh. We laugh at the messes he makes when we are attempting to change is diaper. We laugh when we go through several outfits a day do to massive amounts of spit up. We laugh when we hear spit up hit the floor after running down our backs.

Introducing Sawyer Hotchkiss

I decided to create a blog mainly to keep family and friends up to date on the big events in our lives and most importantly, the every day happenings of our precious baby boy. I want a place to share pictures of the constantly changing Sawyer and the milestones that he will achieve in the up coming months and years.  Becoming parents has not been easy, but we would not trade it for anything.  Having Sawyer has brought Sam and me so much joy and happiness.  It is truly amazing the love that I feel for our little baby boy and also the ever increasing love I feel for Sam as I watch him with Sawyer.  

 Sawyer was born on June 3 at 9:18 am weighing 8 lbs 15 oz

 Having a boy was quite the surprise! The ultrasound tech told us we were having a girl!
